About the project
This was one of my project during my BA illustration study. I created 6 illustrations which were inspired by songs of
Per se.
Per se is a poetic pop music duo band in Hong Kong, consisting of Stephen Mok on guitar and Sandy Ip on the keyboard. I love their music arrangements as well as their story-telling lyrics. So I chose 6 of my favourite songs and created illustrations with packaging, as to recreate a mini album.
Per se's songs are full of imagination. These illustrations show how I feel and enjoy their world through their music. Gratefully I also received Per se's appreciation and I am happy they like my work.
Concept
The concept was about perception. The album named 'perceive' , all about how we look at the world and our lives regarding to the song lyrics. I chose penguin as a symbol because they used to fly up in the sky but they evolved to swim diving into the sea for hunting. It made me remind that we face our hard times everyday to earn a living rather than chasing dreams.
Don't forget your dreams. I hope everyone can finally catch their balloons — and fly.
